The State Animal Welfare Board of Orissa has been registered under Societies Registration Act 1860, bearing Regd. No-21823/1-2004-05/ Dated-03.04.2004.
Complying to the direction of the Govt. of India, a State Animal Welfare Board (SAWB) was formed to advise on the matters of animal welfare vide Notification No. 22225 dt. 28.11.02.
The Hon'ble Minister of Fisheries & Animal Resource Development Orissa is the chairman. Agriculture Production Commissioner, Orissa, Vice Chairman, and Director, AH & VS Orissa is the Member Secretary of SAWB. The Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Fisheries & ARD Department is the Member of the Board.
